Robert Morris University provides numerous resources for students to successfully enter the business world. The education of RMU student entrepreneurs won’t be centered around entrepreneurship. Instead, they will complete courses from a variety of business disciples. These courses, paired with access to real-world experience and modern business technologies, will prepare student entrepreneurs for entering their chosen fields.
Robert Morris University does not offer an entrepreneurial studies major. Students at the undergraduate and graduate level can study several business concentrations through the RMU School of Business, which is among only 5 percent of business schools around the world to be accredited by AACSB International, The Association to Advance College Schools of Business.
Undergraduate students may obtain a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, management, or marketing. Graduate students can pursue a Master’s degree in business administration or management. Management programs can be concentrated, such as sports, engineering or human resources management, among others. Students can participate in entrepreneurship classes while enrolled in any business program.
Student organizations involve concentrated interests as well. Students can join the Sport Management Association, Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, Hospitality and Tourism Management Association, or the American Marketing Association. There are also several organizations for engineering students. The varying subjects of student clubs allows entrepreneurs to join organizations related to their specific interests.
The School of Business Complex houses the PNC Trading Center, United States Steel Corporation Video Conferencing and Technology Center, and the ATI Center. These new resources provide students with access to real-time financial data and an immersive video conferencing experience.
Robert Morris University offers the Pittsburgh Speaker Series each academic year. The series brings influential people from differing backgrounds and specialties to Pittsburgh to share their journeys and successes with young hopefuls. Students can ask questions of each visitor at the question-and-answer forum following lectures.
The PPG Industries Career and Leadership Development Center is available to RMU students and alumni. The Career Center helps RMU graduates find jobs or employees from the alumni network. Having assistance finding employees can be very useful for entrepreneurs who need people with a skill set that will incite business growth.
The Career Center offers career counseling and workshops and an academic internship program. Student entrepreneurs can take advantage of these opportunities to understand the realities of business ownership and operation. Volunteer opportunities and panel discussions help students gain experience by connecting them with alumni and employers.
